Setup 2-Step Verification

2 Step Verification provides an extra layer of security to protect your timetotrade account. After entering your user name and password, you will be asked for a security code generated by a verification device, which is typically an app on your phone. If someone discovers your password they will not be able to access your account without your verification device.

To enable the 2 Step Verification select the 'User Security' choice from the user drop down menu:

Click on the blue 'Setup Now' button:

Select the verification device that you would like to use and click on the 'Set Up' button. Google and Microsoft Authenticators are apps that you install on your phone. The YubiKey is a dedicated hardware device that can be purchased.

In this example, the 'Setup' button for the Google Authenticator has been selected. The process is similar for other devices.

A square Q barcode will be displayed on the timetotrade screen:

Open the Authenticator app on your phone and select 'Set up account':

If a 'Q Code' reader is installed on your device, select 'Scan a barcode'. Go to the app store to install a Q Code reader if you have not already done so.:

Alternatively click on the 'I can't scan the barcode' link on timetotrade:

and manually enter the code into the Google Authenticator 'key' field and set the 'account' to 'timetotrade':

After scanning the barcode or entering the authentication code manually, a verification for timetotrade will be displayed on your Authentication Device.

Enter that Authentication code into timetotrade and click on the blue 'Verify Pairing' button:

The 2-Step Verification setup is now complete. It is strongly recommended that you print the Recovery Codes that are displayed and keep them in a safe place in case your loose your Authentication Device.

It is also strongly recommended that enter your mobile phone number in case you lose both your verification device and Recovery Codes.

The next time you log into timetotrade you will be asked to enter a verification code. Use your Authentication device to generate the 2-Step Verification code:

If you don't have the verification device use on the Recovery Codes or click on the "I don't have my verification device" to send yourself an SMS with a Recovery Code.

To disable the 2-Step Verification go to the User Security section and click on the Red 'Disable 2-Step Verification' button and then enter a verification code:

To generate new Recovery Codes should you lose or use them, go to the User Security section and click on the 'New Recovery Codes' button.
